13th September

The TSB website
WEBSITE
I know it only re-launched this week, but I can't believe that a 'modern 21st century' bank can have a website this bad. It's not even responsive, which is a super simple piece of code to make a website fit the size of your screen. Who even made this? Blind children?

Why Your Southern Rail Journey was Delayed Today
LONG ARTICLE
Really good blog post about how perfectly normal people, (not 'trolls' or 'kids' but professionals and otherwise lovely people), decide it's okay to throw abuse at rail companies on Twitter - even when the disruption is totally out of their hands. Don't do this people, be a grown up.

The Commute
VIDEO
A really nice piece of content creation from Mr Porter appeared this week. Refreshingly, not a YouTube video (give me VIEWS!) but you can only view it on their website, which, being an online retailer, is surprisingly sensible.

The iPhone 5C makes perfect sense
LONG ARTICLE
The iPhone 5C got a lot of bad buzz this week (budget my arse!) but this article does a great job at explaining what Apple are doing. Like the iPad (which similarly, was mocked on it's arrival), I expect the 5C to be a massive, massive success, and the new way Apple phases its' 'second tier' product strategy, which it has been doing for nearly five years.

Game of Thrones in 8-bit
GAME
Worth it just to hear the theme tune in 8-bit style, this is really a rather fantastic fan-made 8-bit game. This video is just a trailer, but you can download the game for free from the website here.

The North Koreans Making It Down South
LONG ARTICLE
The very interesting story of fleeing North Koreans trying to make a new life in the South. Turns out it's not that easy.

The Fifa 13 Alan Partridge Mod
VIDEO
You've heard all these lines before I'm sure, but this is still highly chuckle-worthy.

The Most Popular Cooking Recipe on the Internet
SHORT ARTICLE
This is a really interesting insight into the most popular recipe on the internet. It's for lasagna. And it looks delicious. I don't know about you, but I'm going to try it.

History of the English Language
DOCUMENTARY
This, made by Melvyn Bragg in 2003 is frankly a must watch for anyone who cares about language, literature, culture or, well, anything that isn't lolcats and burger restaurants.

And Finally
WEBSITE
How many Angela Merkel puns do you think there could possible be? Answer? More than you think.
